Two noteworthy smartphone launch in India this year are the Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition and the Lenovo K4 Note. In this article, we are going to look at the features, specs, processor, display size, and more of the Lenovo K4 Note. The Lenovo K4 Note was announced and released in January 2016 and it is the successor to the hugely successful K3 Note from Lenovo.

Processor 

1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core Cortex-A53 processor and a GPU of Mali-T720MP3 is under the hood of the Lenovo K4 Note. The new flagship houses a Mali-T720MP3 graphics to go with the processor. Although, some people would want to see the Qualcomm Snapdragon on this phone, but that will be a bit to stretchy as it will bump the price of the phone. And that might not necessarily transfer into a better performance. Therefore, it is still a wise choice that the company focuses more on the hardware. 

Display

The Lenovo K4 Note comes with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 (that is 401 ppi pixel density) and a 5.5” display (this uses a screen to body ration of ~71.0%). The display comes with 16M colors and IPS capacity touchscreen. The display of the newest smartphone from Lenovo can boast of a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for the screen protection and a multitouch touchscreen display.

The battery on the Lenove K4 is a non-removable Li-Po 3300 mAh capacity. When you leave the battery in standby mode, it can last up to 265 hours under 3G. If you talk with the phone, it only has 22 hours to die down with 3G and an extended 1-hour if it’s used in 2G.

Operating System

The Lenovo smartphone has the latest Lenovo Vibe UI and is running on the Android 5.1 Lollipop version.

Connectivity

The new flagship supports GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, and 4G LTE. It can also work with microUSB 2.0 and has a WiFi hotspot, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and a WiFi Direct option under the hood. The phone comes with a New Field Communication (NFC) and an FM radio for your entertainment and sending files to other smartphones.

NFC

The NFC protocol is getting increasingly popular with Android smartphones. The NFC is a protocol that allows two electronic devices communicated with each other when they are within 10cm of each other. You can send files, contact information, pictures, and game setup or play multiplayer games using this powerful technology.

This smartphone weighs 158 g. The phone measures 153.6 mm x 76.5 mm x 9.2 mmm. The handset can be used with a dual SIM – the Micro-SIM and a dual stand-by. The two SIMs can both be used with 4G supports. The back cover on the phone can also be changed as Lenovo plan to out into the market other colors and materials such as wood, etc.

Fingerprint Scanner

The Lenovo K4 Note smartphone has a fingerprint sensor and stereo speaker with Dolby ATMOS.

Talking of the finger print scanner, it is placed below the camera module on the back panel. The scanner will facilitate purchasing on the Internet and enables you to unlock your phone with your fingerprint.

While the Finger Print Scanner has found its way into many Android phones, it is still restricted to higher end smartphones. We started seeing the scanner on a number of Android phones after Apple integrate its own version, Touch ID, on its iPhones.

The smartphone is thin, has a bigger expandable storage and high capacity battery than the previous version. The Lenovo K3 Note has a battery capacity of only 2900mAh. For those who have been agitating for a better battery capacity, the company seems to have looked into that. Another feature that sets this smartphone apart is the metal frame construction. That construction gives the phone a premium look.

There are surround sound speakers (two 5W Dolby Atmos) with a 3.5 mm lossless audio jack. The phone also has Wolfson WM8281 audio codec and the other feature to ensure a better call quality is the in house built 3-mic audio input system.

Price 

Since the Lenovo is already out, it is priced at Rs 11,999 and later in January sold in January 19 on Amazon.in for Rs 12,499. The later is inclusive of the ANT VR headset combo.
