What we have gotten so far
This 2016, Apple will definitely treat us to the next chapter in its smartphone history – the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Even before the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were released, we have already heard rumors about these new smartphones. That is normal given the fact that iPhones are currently one of the most popular smartphones in the market.
Today, we take a look at the most sound rumors about the upcoming smartphones from the tech titan:
Design: Given the history of design changes in its smartphone lineup, the iPhone 7 is expected to come in a completely new design. According to sources, the new Apple smartphone will be made of either liquidmetal or an extremely durable new alloy of aluminum.
Hardware: We expect the handset to feature a 16nm Apple chipset produced by TSMC. In terms of RAM, it is likely that the iPhone 7 will come with 2GB of RAM while the bigger iPhone 7 Plus will feature 3GB of RAM.
Display: Display size and screen resolution will most likely remain similar to that of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus while 3D Touch might be given the multi-touch support treatment.
Camera: Given the fact that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were given a huge specs leap compared to their predecessors, we don’t expect the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to come with higher-resolution cameras. Most likely, the new Apple smartphones will feature a 12MP iSight rear shooter coupled with a 5MP FaceTime snapper up front.
Release date, availability and pricing: We expect Apple to unveil the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in an early September announcement but these handsets hitting the shelves and being made available to eager buyers will most likely to take place in late September. In terms of pricing, no solid word yet on the possible retail prices of the devices but we think that Apple will not make drastic changes on the established pricing of its smartphones.
Again, we would like to remain everybody that all of these are just rumors and are meant to be taken with a grain of salt. We will be updating this page as we go along so check back every once in a while to get the freshest and juiciest rumors about the upcoming smartphones from Apple.
